October 18 Annual Meeting to Be Held Jointly with USFWC

The annual meeting of the Greater Boston Chamber of Cooperatives will take place Monday, October 18, 5:00-6:30 p.m., as a joint meeting with a newly mobilized Boston chapter of the United States Federation of Worker Co-ops (USFWC). Members of both organizations are invited to attend.

The COVID pandemic has made everything more difficult for the cooperative movement. This meeting will be a time to connect and reconnect with each other, and with our goals for our local co-op ecosystem. We will have a number of updates, including:

  1. GBCC's annual report and year in review, including a report from Jon Seward of the Mass. Association of Housing Cooperatives on the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act's legislative progress

  2. An update on organizing USFWC's Boston Chapter, and goals for the local chapter

  3. The Center for Economic Democracy's (CED) Alex Papali will give an update on CED's co-op-related statewide legislative efforts in the past and coming year

We will also hold board elections for GBCC, and coordinating committee elections for the Boston Chapter of USFWC. Spanish interpretation will be available.

Please contact the event organizers in advance if you are interested in volunteering for a board or coordinating committee seat (board seat for GBCC: greater.boston.coops@gmail.com; coordinating committee seat for USFWC Boston: bcco.coop@gmail.com).
